Share your experience. Mandatory ot is ridiculous! Work hrs are not accommodating. Pto is nice and unscheduled pto is a good plus. Calls are mortifying especially crom their own agents!

Time off and holdiays are good. Pros pto, holiday schedule. Cons work hours , mandatory ot, supervisors dont care. Good to work for if you like independence. If not look other places. Work life balance, and decent pay. Good management and good peers to work with. Pros Good. Cons None. Yes, Aflac is commission only based, but the way the system is structured. This is a great long term job. You have to absolutely work your butt off but in 3 years you will be looking at great pay and be thanking yourself.

The commission is low to start but it grows the longer you stay with the company. Also key thing not every region is structured of cared for the same for example the way a California region runs will not be like a Texas region. Find the right team that pushes you and makes you want to work harder and you will succeed with Aflac.

Pros Great long term, flexibility And great opportunities. Cons Commission based and constant grinding. Yes There are 4 helpful reviews 4 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. One thing you should know about being a benefits advisor and independent contractor is that you make your own hours, and need to generate your own leads. Be prepared to put in a lot of work and long hours.

It takes time, energy and dedication to start this position. But, the rewards and bonus structures are second to none. Pros Good Bonuses, make your own hours. Cons Time spent generating leads, training. Yes There are 4 helpful reviews 4 No There are 2 unhelpful reviews 2. Jobs at Aflac. Claims Support Coord. Insurance Agent. Been an agent almost 10 years. There have been ups and downs but mostly ups. I can take off whenever I want. Work whenever I want. Continuous training. Been on numerous trips and have been given so many trophies that I've had to throw a lot away.

Downside - there are no health benefits. You can purchase Aflac policies and stock. They do reward you with stock monthly dependent on your productivity. If you aren't willing to work you butt off the first 2 years, you won't go anywhere. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. Challenging but fun. Get to meet and work with all types of people.

Really good place to work. You don't have to be a "people person", just be you. You get to travel around the area you live or go as far as you want as long as you are licensed in that state. How well you do depends on how hard you are willing to work. The work is not hard but is a little time consuming. Pros Great people to work with! Cons Doesn't pay that well at first. If you willing to sacrifice time off for a good salary , this is definitely the right company , be ready for daily chsnges and mandatory overtime every day at least Teo hours daily.

You have to compete for time off. Pros Salary. Cons Pto, micro manage. Good money if you can handle it. For me it was the right opportunity at the wrong time. The job is all commission so after a certain point in your training it is either sink or swim. Sooner is better. Did you set an appointment today? Great job! Hit the rock! Two or three appointments?

You are a hero of the day! After getting your appointments you of course need to bring someone experienced with you to that meeting because what can you say after being with the company for 5 days? Do you know your value proposition? Real stories? Do you have any idea how you are going to help your customer? Well, you are clueless. You are definitely in need of your manager to go with you and do all the talking. You just sit there like an elementary school student. Be silent.

Listen carefully. Take notes t I signed on here in July and left in April , propelled by the ending of a relationship, and the sudden tripling of my bills. This job requires active, almost religious-like devotion in order to have even moderate success in a small and mid town environment. Their model is to train up as many foot soldiers agents as possible and send them into an overly saturated business market everyone has either seen it already and hates it, or already has it and loves it in order to drive growth.

It is reckless and unprofessional. These are also unpaid for both time spent in training and time on the road.

The average time to open a new account and get paid is not weeks like they will tell you it is. It will be weeks for each new acc Pros Self Scheduleing. Cons Paid every months; Insanely expensive to start up and make profitable. I sold aflac for 2. I saw many people come into the organization and leave actually owing money back to aflac. You are working in a horribly saturated market and are constantly encouraged to recruit more competition.

Because the structure is similar to a multi-level marketing scheme. No one in the sales force associate, district coord, regional coord, state coord, territory, and national are employees of Aflac. I come from a small metro area of about , and there are 2 district managers with around 20 associates each at any one time.

Out of those groups only about 10 have been working for over a year. The reason for this is you hit your friends and family up and make some pretty good money but when you've used your network up you're staring at a market where you're directly competing with many others for a limited number of businesses. Then when you can't find any businesses to sell and aren't making money you quit. When you quit your friends and family drop the coverage they bought from you and you're left paying back the unearned advance.

It sucks! Let's say you make it past the first year. Yay for you! It's about to get really hard. You're now balancing a year's worth of admin claims, etc , trying to convince people to keep their coverage you sold them last year when you ar Pros You are your own boss.

Free marketing material. Cons No guarantee of income in a horribly saturated market. Let me start off my saying that I left a job for Aflac. Unfortunately there was no way for job advancement which is what ultimately lead me to Aflac. I was told that I could start immediately after my licensing exam and that it would only take 2 weeks for that.

Confident in a company name that I had known since I was a child I put my two weeks in at my old job. It took about six weeks based on test availability and left me a month without work. Finally I was able to start was I was expecting to be a dream job. I had asked a lot of questions in preparation for this day and felt that I was equipped to handle it, but I was wrong. I lot of what is told to her dolls during the interview are half truths.

I was told that I would have access to healthcare. This is something that I desperately needed because I have prexisting health conditions. The only access is through a association. You have to pay membership for it and the prices were hired than aca. I was also told that we had paid training. I understood that the job itself would be commissioned, but wanted to ensure that I was have a pocket of safe It's amazing this company has gotten away with this BS for so long. First, they prey on unemployed, down-on-their luck people.

They bring you in, make all these promises, fill your head with ideas, and then You spend countless hours in training and meetings, and don't get one red cent for any of it. They sell you on the premise that you are your own boss, but yet supervisors harass you daily about making cold calls, etc.

Mainly I drove around every day, wasting gas, to make cold calls to places that had already been visited by other AFLAC agents. As you can expect, they generally weren't happy to see me. Then if you ever do get a lead, you won't get full commission because of course, your supervisor will go with you so he can get a piece of the pie.

I worked there two months and spent plenty of money on gas, lunches, business cards they don't even give you free cards , and other stuff. Cons Production enviorment. There is cold-calling, but flexible hours. Company culture may depend on the team, but one of the most ethical companies. It is a Fortune company. Training is provided. Contests and some free food help motivate agents. Pros Flexibility in hours, training, contests. Cons Cold-calling, commission-based.

Great company to work for as a Benefits Advisor. Sales training was helpful and guidance is provided from veteran advisors. Commission Only, so it would also be best to also have a consistent job in the beginning to pay the bills until you become more acclimated. Web site works only sometimes and customer support has no idea what they are doing. Commission only and there is no more commissions after initial sale, but you are expected to service the client for years anyways. Pros Flexible.

Cons No support. It started out great. Their expectations are unrealistic of their CSC employees. Very unorganized when it comes to transitioning from one new thing to the next. If you need a job. Take the job.

But if you can find something else do so. Bc that call center will literally take you out. I came in with no health issues, left with server migraines and depression. Take what you need from this review. Pros Giveaways, Eaw, free food. Cons Micromanaging, unable to get clear clarification on new updates and changes, highly underpaid for the kind of stress we endure.

Messy supervisors. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. Misleading, misrepresented opportunities. Opportunities are misrepresented.

Huge nepotism exists. Revolving door for new people. Next to no coordination of what agents are working what area. Embarrassing situations with clients or prospective clients, unhappy with an Aflac experience. Not meant for people to stay. You will work hard, get a couple of accounts, then if they see you can do it, will push you to get more businesses and it will stop being on your own time, you are not your own boss like they said, when you quit the businesses will go to whomever they like more.

Mandatory ot is ridiculous! Work hrs are not accommodating. Pto is nice and unscheduled pto is a good plus. Calls are mortifying especially crom their own agents! Time off and holdiays are good. Pros pto, holiday schedule. Cons work hours, mandatory ot, supervisors dont care.

Terrible management and overworked. Evilness is all around management and they expect you to over work yourself with not enough pay. Always throwing extra task on you when you haven't completed one.
