Reed diffuser how long does it last

If the reeds have permanently stopped diffusing due to clogging with dust for example then simply replace them with new reeds. How many reeds should I put in a bottle? It is a matter of preference really. More reeds diffuse more scent. We usually put between 6 and 10 reeds in a bottle. Does your base contain alcohol or DPG? TOP No! We are quite proud of our base too! Yes, allow us to toot our own horn here for a minute! Alcohol is highly flammable! It also evaporates into the air very quickly and you go through your oils a lot faster that way.

That's a sneaky little way to get you to have to more frequently buy more oils from them. Dipropylene Glycol often referred to as DPG is a dilutent used in perfumery. DPG is thicker than water and although it is effective for thinning out fragrance oils, it can clog up your reeds. This is why we very strongly believe that we offer the best! If you want a real eye opener, e-mail or phone other suppliers and ask if thier bases contain DPG or any forms of alcohol.

You will find the results very interesting! What are the safety recommendations for reed diffusers? Do not ingest oils. Use caution when filling your bottles with oil or flipping your reeds as oils can damage some surfaces. This is why we give you that handy little coaster in our gift sets! Do not light reeds. Be careful not to tip over the diffuser. Some of our diffusers come with beautiful little charms. Charms may present a choking hazard.

Are any of your bases or fragrances tested on animals? Absolutely not. None of our products are tested on animals. Our reed diffusers are environmentally friendly. Reed diffusers, unlike candles, emanate no soot. How full should I fill my reed diffuser bottle? That's how we have them in our own houses.

Can I color my reed diffuser oil? You sure can. The color will travel up the reeds just as the oil will. Only add a few drops though.

Adding too much color can slow the diffusion process or clog the reeds. We recommend no more than 5 drops per 8 oz. Can I cut my reeds to make them a little shorter? Just use a sharp scissors and snip to the desired length.

If the ends of the reed become a little crimped often caused by using scissors that need to be sharpened then just roll the end of the reeds between your fingers and they will regain their shape.

Cutting your reeds will not affect the wicking process or the diffusion of the oils. After all, the reeds you buy from ANY retail source have been cut from long lengths of reed to begin with. Also, those with sensitive skin may experience a little redness if the oil gets on their skin. Where are your reed diffuser oils manufactured?

This makes reed diffusers a more practical scent solution for some homes. The reed has a porous structure that provides a controlled rate of fragrance release. There are many factors that contribute to how long the oils last. Air conditioning, heating, closed doors, open doors, dehumidifiers, etc. However, we have found that our ml diffuser oil should last for approximately months, but ultimately this will depend on the temperature of your home. Can I top up my diffuser with a different scent and use the same reeds?

Once reeds have been used for a certain scent, you cannot use them for another scent. I have topped up my diffuser, do I need new reeds? When it comes to the intensity or potency of the scent released by a reed diffuser, it is worth remembering that the material the reeds are made of is almost as important as the fragrance itself.

The sticks are usually made of rattan wood or synthetic polyamide. The latter is better for evaporation and therefore tends to be used with alcohol-free compositions in order to make up for their slower evaporation rate.

You should also consider the thickness of the reeds. For optimal performance, we recommend a stick around 3 mm thick. To improve evaporation, it may be necessary to flip the sticks over — especially if they are made of wood — to prevent them from becoming clogged. As a matter of fact, reeds tend to get dusty and congested over time, which means they lose their efficiency.
